Recently, the product-testing professionals at ROADBIKE Magazine conducted a head-to-head review of ten different disc wheelsets from ten different brands across the world of road cycling. Consisting of a range of varying approaches, materials, and methods, all the wheelsets included in the test had to meet one important criterion: they had to weigh under 1,300 grams.
OBERMAYER EVO schwarz ED win head-to-head ROADBIKE test
Testing the OBERMAYER EVO schwarz ED
For this test, we sent the ROADBIKE team a set of our OBERMAYER EVO schwarz ED wheels, a light, responsive disc wheelset hand-crafted from carbon and featuring an all-black colorway and Ceramic Speed bearings.
The team then rated each wheelset based on a few key categories and characteristics, including weight, price, lateral stiffness, construction quality, and ride impression.
And the winner is…
Once the dust had settled and the wheels had stopped spinning, our OBERMAYER EVO schwarz ED wheelset earned a shared top-podium placement, with a total score of 92. The ROADBIKE testers were particularly impressed with the OBERMAYER’s build quality, precision, and responsive ride feel, stating that “…even the slightest muscle twitch feels like it translates into immediate propulsion, and the steering is incredibly precise.”
